Officially a "Big Kid"
In my mind there are a few milestones that make you a "big kid".
~ potty trained
~ dress himself
~ shower himself
~ brush own teeth/mouthwash (ok, he still needs help with flossing)
~ ride a 2 wheeler w/ no training wheels
~ buckle own seatbelt w/ only a no-back booster
~ read a chapter book
~ swim with no floaties
~ go into the bathroom alone (like out in public, does not 'have' to go to women's bathroom w mom)
~ and finally the last : tie his shoes.
Zachary has now reached them all, and is, to me, a big kid! That's right folks he can tie his shoes. He learned amazingly quickly, once his lazy lazy mom took just a few minutes to show him how (the two bunny ears method). He practiced and practiced. For awhile he used the belt of his robe to practice tying it around him. Great learning tool b/c it is so big!
As of yesterday, for soccer practice, he tied both of his cleats all by himself. I did not even adjust them for him!
Yea Zachary Michael Counts, official big kid. Glad he still needs me to kiss him goodnight!
