Spring Break! Day 2

Zachary's playdate for this morning canceled which opened up our day to do something! No sitting around the house all day today! So we headed off to a fav - the Palo Alto Jr. Museum & Zoo. Z had never been there, so it was time. It was pretty crowded because there were two preschool field trips there. But they cleared out by about 11:30 and then the place was splendidly empty. Z enjoyed the jr museum quite a bit, more than I thought he would actually. It was cute because he would ask W how something worked, or what he was supposed to do at a center. Fun for Wyatt to get to give him the tour. The costumes were a favorite as usual, and Yannick could not get enough of his favorite little cabinet with door. At first he threw a few temper tantrums about having to take turns, but then he was great about sharing and taking turns. Today we saw some action from the bees which was fun. Overall I was sad for Zach because the bobcats were not awake and neither were the raccoons. But he still seemed to love it. They all three loved the goose. Oddly, Yannick was concerned about the goose, misremembering an incident with the goose. He kept saying the goose bit him when in reality the goose bit another kid. Z wanted the goose to bite him, but I was relieved it stayed in the water. The boys were in charge of taking pictures today, so some of them are not what i would really want, but they liked it. Art asked the to get a picture of the peacock but it was difficult because he was so high in the tree.
After the little zoo part, they spent some more time in the museum and then finally lunch. We packed a picnic lunch and went to the playground adjacent to the museum. Since we had no other adults with us the boys opted to put our blanket on the grass for a "real" picnic.
